Why the quiet is real, and why the security claim is honest

None of that applies to a laminated pane. There is no stored tension to release and there is a plastic layer holding both plies together. A punch will star the outer ply and go no further. A hammer will make a hole you cannot fit through. Assume it is not a route.

Plan your exit around what you actually have. Doors first, always: try both front doors and unlatch before you assume they are jammed. If a window is your route, use a pane you have confirmed is tempered, which on most vehicles means a rear door window or the back glass, and strike at a corner rather than the center.
