What an F-150 windshield costs in 2026
The F-150 is the highest volume vehicle sold in the United States, and that works in your favor. Several aftermarket manufacturers tool up for this part, distributors stock it, and a common variant is usually available the same day or the next day. Compared with a low volume vehicle carrying the same features, you are paying less for the glass and less for the wait.
- Glass and labor, no camera. About $350 to $550. This covers most work trucks and lower trims, plus older cabs without lane keeping.
- Glass and labor, camera plus acoustic interlayer. About $500 to $900. The bracket, the controlled optics in the camera window and the multilayer interlayer all sit in that gap.
- Recalibration. About $150 to $400 depending on whether the procedure is a road drive, a target setup in a bay, or both.
- Mouldings, clips and supplies. About $40 to $150. The cowl and the upper moulding are frequently one-time-use parts, and a shop that reuses a cracked clip is saving $12 and buying you a wind noise complaint.
A camera truck therefore lands somewhere around $650 to $1,300 all in, which is the band most current F-150 owners should expect. Why 2015 is the dividing line on this truck
The F-150 changed cab structure for the 2015 model year, moving to an aluminum alloy body, and changed again for 2021 with the current generation. Those are the two splits that matter to a glass order. The opening geometry, the moulding design and the cowl differ across them, so a part that fits a 2018 SuperCrew is not the part for a 2022 SuperCrew even though both trucks look broadly similar from ten feet away.
Cab configuration matters less than owners expect. Regular cab, SuperCab and SuperCrew share the same windshield within a generation, because the cab grows behind the A pillar rather than in front of it. What splits the part number is the option content described below. The F-150 Lightning shares the cab, so the panel is broadly the same shape, but it is ordered as its own part and carries more sensor and coating content on average, so assume calibration and assume the higher band.

Is there a camera behind your mirror, and which cameras do not count
Sit in the driver's seat and look up at the back of the mirror mount. A forward facing camera is a plastic housing bonded to the glass with a lens pointing up the road through a trapezoid of clear glass in the black frit. If that housing is there, your job includes recalibration, every time, regardless of whether any warning light is on.
As a rough guide: lane keeping with a windshield camera appeared on upper trims early in the 2015 to 2020 generation, and Ford Co-Pilot360 spread the camera-based features across most of the lineup toward the end of that generation. On 2021 and later trucks a camera is the normal case rather than the exception, and trucks equipped for hands-free highway driving depend on it entirely. That is a pattern, not a rule you can order parts from. Look at your own glass.
Here is the part that confuses F-150 owners more than any other vehicle in this section: this truck can carry a lot of cameras that have nothing to do with the windshield. The surround view cameras in the mirrors and grille, the tailgate camera, the trailer reverse guidance camera and any accessory trailer camera are all mounted to the body, not to the glass. None of them are moved by a windshield replacement and none of them need calibrating because of one. Do not let a quote inflate on the strength of a camera package that lives outside the glass, and do not assume you are covered because the truck "has cameras" when the one behind the mirror is the only one in question. Check the quote for a calibration line. On a camera truck, a quote that lists only glass, labor and moulding is missing several hundred dollars of required work, and the shop either has not looked at your VIN or intends to hand the truck back uncalibrated. Ask which procedure your truck takes and who performs it before you agree to a date.

The 12 inch center screen on higher trims is not on this list, because a dash screen is not a glass feature. It matters only as a correlation: the trims that got the big screen are usually the trims that also got acoustic glass, the rain sensor and the camera, so a well equipped interior is a hint to check the glass carefully rather than a specification in itself. What the aluminum cab changes at the pinch weld
From 2015 the F-150 cab is aluminum alloy, and corrosion under the glass behaves differently on aluminum than on the steel flanges most installers see all day. You will not usually find the flaking red rust that a steel pinch weld produces. You find a white or gray powdery bloom, often creeping out from under the moulding or from a scratch left by a previous cut-out, and it lifts the urethane bond from underneath rather than eating through the metal.
Three practical consequences, worth knowing because they separate a careful shop from a fast one:
- Scoring the flange matters more. Aluminum is softer than steel, so a cold knife or wire dragged carelessly leaves deeper gouges. Every gouge is a place for corrosion to start and a place where the new bead sits on bare metal instead of primer.
- Dissimilar metal contact starts corrosion. Steel particles left on an aluminum flange, from a blade, a wire brush or grinding dust drifting from another job, set up galvanic corrosion at the contact point. Body shops keep aluminum work in a separate clean area for exactly this reason.
- Bare metal must be primed, not just wiped. Any place the coating was cut through gets the adhesive system's primer, applied and flashed for the time the manufacturer specifies. This is the step that silently gets skipped on a rushed job, and it shows up two winters later as a leak.

Where F-150 jobs go wrong
- Acoustic glass quietly substituted. A tall, upright, largely flat windshield in a vehicle with substantial frontal area produces a lot of wind noise, so the interlayer is doing real work here. Swapping in a standard part fits perfectly and sounds worse at 70 mph, and the difference is hard to prove after the fact.
- The heated element connector left unplugged. If your truck has the heated wiper park, it is a separate electrical connection at the base of the glass. Nobody notices in September. You notice in January when the blades stay frozen down.
- Cowl clips broken on removal. The plastic cowl gets brittle in the sun and clips snap. Replacements cost a few dollars; a missing one gives you a cowl that lifts at speed and a whistle you will chase for months.
- Sensors and accessories transferred badly. The camera unbolts from the old bracket and mounts to the new one, and it has to seat flat with no dirt on the mating surface. A toll transponder or dashcam mounted to the old glass needs a new home, and a dashcam directly over the camera window is a genuinely bad idea. - Mobile installs in bad conditions. A large panel in wind, dust or cold is a harder job than the same panel in a bay. If the truck is at a jobsite in February, ask what the adhesive chart says for that day before you plan the drive home.
Why repair pays off unusually well on this truck
Pickups take more stone strikes than almost anything else on the road, both because of where they are driven and because the upright glass meets debris nearly head on. That makes prompt chip repair the highest return decision an F-150 owner has. A repair runs about $60 to $150, and many comprehensive policies waive the deductible for repair while applying it in full to a replacement.
Run the arithmetic on your own truck. If replacement plus calibration is a $1,000 event and a repair costs $100, the repair only has to hold one time in ten to be worth attempting, and a properly filled chip holds far more often than that. - Photograph the back of your mirror. That single photo answers the calibration question and settles most quote disputes before they start.
- Read the markings in a lower corner. Note anything that says acoustic, any solar or coating wording, and the manufacturer name currently in the truck.
- Give every shop the full VIN and the same option list. Quotes only compare when they cover the same part.

Is a heated wiper park worth keeping when I replace the glass?
If your truck was built with it, order it again.
