Acoustic glass is on more Q5s than owners expect

Acoustic laminated glass uses a softer, damped interlayer sandwiched inside the usual plastic interlayer, tuned to absorb the frequency band that dominates highway noise. The display, the camera and the sensor are three separate things

The head-up display lives in the dash, not behind the mirror, but it depends entirely on the windshield, because it projects onto the inside surface of the glass. Display glass carries a wedge shaped interlayer so the reflections from the two glass surfaces converge at your eye instead of arriving as a doubled image. Why the catalogue punishes guesswork
